Child Health Equity Practice Network
Network Overview
The Child Health Equity Practice Network connects professionals, organizations, researchers, and advocates committed to identifying and dismantling the systemic barriers that prevent all children from achieving optimal health and well-being. This national network supports collaboration and shared learning to advance more equitable, inclusive, and culturally safe healthcare systems—within and beyond the walls of child health institutions.
Despite Canada’s high national income and universal healthcare, inequities in child health outcomes persist and are widening. Structural racism, colonization, income inequality, and policy gaps disproportionately impact Indigenous, racialized, newcomer, and disabled children, as well as those living in poverty or rural and remote regions.
Network Goals:
- Build capacity among child healthcare professionals to advance equity and inclusion
- Share and elevate evidence, practices, and innovations that close equity gaps
- Mobilize collective advocacy to influence policy and systems change
- Create a shared space for reflection, accountability, and community
